This assignment, “The End is For Everything,” was about putting ourselves into the perspective of non-human things or beings:
“When the apocalypse happens, it won’t just happen to humans. Everything on Earth will feel the effects. Write a story from the perspective of a non-human thing or being. Tell us how the end of the world has changed their existence for the better or worse.”https://assignments.ds106.us/assignments/the-end-is-for-everything/
I have been very into writing haikus this week after a haiku daily create assignment last week, so I wrote one from the perspective of a squirrel. I was also drawing on the last two writing assignments I completed about non-human conversations and emotions.
“Everything is gone
What happened to our whole world?
Fear, sadness, and dread”
Haikus are interesting because you have to find a few specific words to convey what you want, but they have to fit specifically into the right number of syllables, which is why they can be difficult to form.
